Marilyn Helm Obituary
She was born in Sonora to Stanford H. and Elsie Catherine Milby Routt. Marilyn graduated from LaRue County High School, Class of 1961. She was the payroll manager at Gates Rubber Company with more than 37 years invested. Marilyn loved helping other people and was an active lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Sonora as a Sunday school teacher, choir music leader and chaperoned many youth camps. She was the president of the Lady's Monday Night Bowling League and a member of the United States Bowling Congress, Marilyn also bowled in the National Tournament for the last 29 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Randell Routt; and a sister, Penny Oliphant.
Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Darryl Helm of Sonora; a daughter, Darla Christy (Josh) Kirkland of Madisonville; a sister, Neysa (Bill) White of Woodland, Texas; her two sweet granddaughters, Ella Brook and Olivia Claire Kirkland; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at First Baptist Church of Sonora in Sonora with Brother Tony Carson officiating. Burial follows in Sonora Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora and continues from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church.

I have bowled with Marilyn for years. She loved bowling, Family and Friends. She was a very sweet lady! You will be missed greatly! Rest in peace!

I had the pleasure of traveling with Marilyn to bowl in Evansville and Reno. I bowled with her on Monday nites at Etown. She was a great bowler and friend. Prayers for the family
