Oliver Edgar Brooks

Oliver Edgar Brooks, 61, of Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

He was born Sept. 8, 1964, in Fort Riley, Kansas, to his parents, Edgar Lee and Berta Paul Brooks.

Oliver was a light in the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was genuine, kind, selfless and when God made him, he broke the mold. His family said there was not another person on this Earth like him and this world would be a better place with more Olivers in it. His passing definitely will leave a void in the hearts of his family and friends.

Oliver was a husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and mentor. He was senior director of operations at Harbison-Walker International.

Oliver was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Lara Martin Brooks; two precious daughters whom he loved dearly, Sydney Turpin (Tristan) and Logan Brooks (Ryan White); a brother, Mark Brooks (Margaret); two nephews, Matthew Brooks (Meghan) and Michael Brooks; a sister-in-law, Samantha Paul (Mike); and a grandson, Solomon Brooks Turpin.

Cremation has been chosen with no visitation or services scheduled at this time.
