William Muhlherr Obituary

William Donald "Don" Muhlherr, 88, of Radcliff, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025.

He was the husband of Golda Mae Byrd Muhlherr. They were life partners for 64 years, married May 12, 1956. Don was the youngest child of John Muhlherr and Victoria Siefert Muhlherr. Don was born Dec. 20, 1936, in Muldraugh.

In 1955, Don Muhlherr graduated from Vine Grove High School. Soon after graduation, he enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. He did a tour in Vietnam and two tours in Lajes Field, Azores. After 20 years of service, he retired with an honorable discharge in 1976 and resided in Radcliff. Don was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter No. 1051 of Elizabethtown.

In civilian life, Don always worked. For several years, he traveled state-to-state as a fruit and vegetable inspector for the USDA. Next, he worked 17 years for Taylor Motors, contractor for Fort Knox School System, as a dedicated school bus driver and supervisor. Don also was an active, faithful member of North Hardin Christian Church of Radcliff.

Don's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking/wood carving in his shop and caring for his beloved dog, Olivia. He will be remembered by many as a loving family man, caring church member and disciplined serviceman.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Golda; his father, John; his mother, Victoria; his brother, Johnny; and his two sisters, Catherine and Anna Hobbs.

Among those surviving to treasure his memory are his three daughters and their husbands, Donna and Thomas Eustace of Prosperity, South Carolina, Subrina and Jerry Hill of Radcliff and Tonia and Larry Kapel of Boulder City, Nevada; his eight grandchildren will miss him greatly, Lana (Eustace) Napier, Thomas Eustace Jr. and Jerry Hill, Teresa Carver, Robert Hill, Donavan Hill, Aliza Kapel and Sarah Kapel; 16 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with Brother Ben Underhill officiating. Don will be laid to rest with military honors at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.

Visitation begins at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
