Doris Dilbeck

Doris Sue Dilbeck, age 70, of Blue Ridge, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at her home.
She was born December 5, 1955, in McCaysville, to the late Ernest Dilbeck, also known as "Strawberry", and Marie White Dilbeck.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Doris was affectionately known as "Nana" to many who knew her. She was an amazing cook, and knew that food was what brought people together. She dedicated much time to preparing meals for others. Doris was also a caregiver for others in her community. She loved her children and grandchildren with everything she had.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Billy Dilbeck, Dennis Dilbeck, Kathy Tanner, and Shirley Dilbeck.
Doris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Jon Alewel; son and daughter-in-law, Corey and Nikki Whitaker; grandchildren, Collin Alewel, Slade Alewel, Gretchen Alewel, Lucas Whitaker, Maddyn Whitaker, and Cole Gribble; her siblings, Lisa Green, Ernest Dilbeck, Jr., Donnie (Louise) Dilbeck, and Michael (Cora) Dilbeck; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
A funeral service was held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at noon from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Ritter officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Corey Whitaker, Jon Alewel, Collin Alewel, Slade Alewel, Jason Tanner, Cole Wehunt, and Adam Dilbeck.
The family visited with friends at the funeral home Friday, February 27, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m.
