JoAnn Deaver Obituary
Mrs. Deaver was born March 28, 1936, in Blairsville, Georgia, the daughter of the late Dewey Collins and the late Ouva Brackett Collins.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County.
JoAnn was a loving and caring mother, sister and grandmother.
She was a very faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roland Barnes Jr., and her second husband, Orpheus E. "Corky" Deaver in 2015; her son, Danny Barnes; granddaughter, Alison Stansel; two brothers, Gerald Collins and the Rev. Harry Collins and two sons in law, Paul Goad and Tommy Patterson.
Mrs. Deaver was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Deaver are her children, Karen Patterson (Phillip McGlamery) of Blairsville, Cathy Doster (David) of Elberton, Cindy Goad (Edward Ryniec) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; daughter in law, Kay Barnes of Blue Ridge; one brother, Ronnie Collins of Auburn, Georgia; sister in law, Gail Collins of Auburn, Georgia; sister in law, Rosemary Collins of Wadley, Alabama; one grandson, Samuel Stansel (Kristin Anderson), several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Mason officiating.
Special music will be presented by the Bethlehem Church Choir, the following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Sam Stansel, Vick Payne, Joe Garner, Vince Collins, Tim Thomas and Ronnie Collins.
Interment will follow in the Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery where she will rest with her beloved husband. Flowers are accepted, or if you wish the family requests donations may be made to a favorite charity of your choice in memory of Mrs. Deaver.
The family met with friends at the funeral home Sunday, June 29, from noon. until 2 p.m.
Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
