James Zambie Obituary
A funeral mass celebrating the life of James A. Zambie, Jr., 72, of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Rev. Keith Garvin officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Zambie died Saturday, October 11, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church Jimmy retired as Assistant Chief from the Monroe Police Department after 34 years of service. He loved the outdoors spending time with his family hunting and fishing.
Mr. Zambie was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Zambie, Sr., and Allene Tonore Zambie.
Survivors include wife, Mrs. Mary R. Zambie; son, Christopher James Zambie and daughter-in-law Amber; grandchildren, Kain Zambie and Sara Zambie; brother, Dr. Michael Zambie and wife Vicki; sister, Joyce Tucker and husband Robert and numerous cousins.
Pallbearers will be Michael Zambie, Jr., Mark Huggins, Charles Huggins, Mike Bellissimo, Bobby Knickerbocker, and Drury Bynum.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Huggins, Glen Stewart, and members of the Monroe Police Department.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Med Camps of Louisiana at 102 Thomas Road, West Monroe, LA 71291.

I worked with Zambie(as I called him) at MPD and thought the world of him. He was definitely one of a kind and I have so many fond memories that include him, he will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as they say "good-bye". He will never be forgotten.

Chris and I are best friends and Mr. Jimmy and Mrs. Mary were like my folks, and have always treated me like their own son. I have very fond memories of when we were all younger. I am going to miss him very much. To Mrs. Mary and Chris, don't hesitate to call me if there is anything I can do. I'm just around the corner. I'll be praying for you guys. See you in a few days.
