Funeral services for Linda F. Tarver, 61 of Columbia will be held 2:00 PM Sunday November 6, 2016 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Brother Chris Gainous officiating. Other speakers include Fred Hill and Jimmy Strong who will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Burroughs Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Saturday November 5, 2016 at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Linda Faye Tarver was born on October 12, 1955 at Columbia, LA and she passed from this life on October 28, 2016 at the St. Francis Medical Center Downtown Campus following an extended illness.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents San Juan Tarver and Argentina America Alanize Tarver, by her paternal grandparents: Charlie and Eunice Tarver, and by her maternal grandparents Jose Alaniz and Macaria Alaniz. Linda was a school bus driver for the Caldwell Parish School System for many years, she loved to grow vegetable gardens and loved to can her vegetables, and she was a spectacular cook and cooking was a passion of hers. She owned the Sears store in Columbia and she worked as manager for Easy Way for many years, and then Aarons after their purchase of Easy Way until her illness that she fought so hard and so bravely.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her children: Son: Jonathan Lee Beckley of Columbia, Catina Faye Beckley and wife Kattie of Grayson; her brother: Kenneth Tarver and wife Jeannie of Columbia; her grandchildren: Hannah Beckley of Lexington, Tennessee and Abbie Beckley of Zachary, LA.
