Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Beth Denton Newman, 81, will be 2pm Monday November 26, 2012 at the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Warren officiating. Visitation will begin at 1pm until time of service.
Mrs. Newman was born June 22, 1931 in Bernice, LA and passed from this life on Thursday November 23, 2012 at Saint Joseph's in Monroe. She was raised in Claiborne Parish and worked in the area at GMAC, Ouachita National Bank, Rivers Ford and Cooper Buick. Beth Newman was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents Maggie Thompson and Wilson Denton and brother-in-law Roi Andrews.
Survivors include her daughter, Felicia Cockrell and husband Donnie; son Lane Newman and wife Patty; Neil Newman and wife Kay; grandchildren, Cameron Cockrell and wife Kellie, Coy Cockrell and wife Amanda, Autumn Newman, Jessica Wisenor and husband Cole, Nicki Bass, Chelle Newman, Katie Newman, Ned Newman, Billy Newman, Gary Newman, Jake Newman; great grandchildren Addison Cockrell, Rainey Bass, Daisy Bass, Amelia Bass; sisters Joyce Bagwell and husband Billy Joe, Ann Andrews, Marjorie Huey and husband Randel; brothers Dan Denton and wife Barbara, Don Denton and wife Sue, Dave Denton and wife Donna, Gary Denton and wife Margaret; along with many other numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
