Cynthia Tidwell Obituary

Cynthia Thompson Davis Tidwell passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025 in Palm Bay, Florida, while listening to her favorite music by Jimmy Buffet.
Cindy was born in Pulaski, Tennessee, on September 4, 1955, but spent her childhood in Melbourne, Florida, where she became a champion baton twirler and fell in love with the beach. She graduated from Eau Gallie High School in 1973, then later graduated from Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. For over 20 years she cared for others as a nurse in Northeast Georgia.
She was a wonderful mom to two children, Jason and Jennifer, and raised them to be kind and to enjoy life to the fullest, always supporting and loving them through all life gave them. They took many family vacations to Key West, her favorite place, including a trip to celebrate her 60th birthday where she got her first and only tattoo of a palm tree at sunset. She married John Tidwell and shared many adventures with him until he passed away in 2012. She later moved back to Florida to be closer to the beach.
Cindy is survived by her son, Jason Davis, and daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Duranti.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Virginia Thompson; brother, Kenny Thompson; and husband, Capt. John Tidwell.
A beach memorial service will be planned for early 2026 near Melbourne, Florida.
