Matthew Osborne Obituary
Matthew was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and grew up in Seminole, Florida. He was a professional journalist for 25 years, starting in 1999 as a sportswriter at the Lake City (Florida) Reporter after graduating from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. From there, he served his communities as editor/publisher of The Graham Star in Robbinsville, N. Carolina; sports editor and news editor of the Richmond County Daily Journal in Rockingham, N. Carolina; sports editor and editor of The Trentonian in Trenton, New Jersey; and editor of the Cherokee Scout and Andrews Journal from 2014-19. In November of 2019, Matthew became editor of The Northeast Georgian in Cornelia.
He is preceded in death by his father, Barry Osborne.
Survivors include his wife, Samantha Sinclair; sons, Hunter, Callum and Oliver; mother, Sue Osborne; sister and brother-in-law, Mackenzie Osborne and Pete Spano.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at the funeral home prior to the service.

26 years ago today Tom and I lost our son Tommy in a car accident and if it wasn't for Sue Osborne I don't know how we could have gotten through it all. Our son Tommy and Matthew were friends many years ago and I'm sure that the two of them are playing basketball in the streets of heaven. Please accept our heartfelt condolences and know that heaven has welcomed it's newest Angel with open arms. Be open to the possibility that Matthew will always be by your side. You won't have to look for him. He will find you.
