Paul Marschall Obituary
Ripon - Paul G. Marschall, age 70, of rural Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017, unexpectedly at his home.
Paul was born on December 25, 1947, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Gerhardt "Fritz" and Esther (Ewald) Marschall. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Berlin. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1966 and went on to serve our country in the United States Army, serving his tour of duty in Viet Nam. He was honorably discharged on August 22, 1969. On May 16, 1970, he married Sharon Vergin at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi, WI. His working career began at Koro Creamery at the age of 16, and after the service he went on to work another 40 years at Alto Dairy in Waupun, WI, before retiring in 2008.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sharon, of rural Ripon, WI; one daughter Dana (Kevin) Neuenfeldt of Ripon; two sons, Darin (Crystal) Marschall of Princeton, WI and Daniel (Liz) Marschall of Oshkosh, WI; six grandchildren: Alexa and Layne Neuenfeldt, Estella and Landon Marschall, and Ethan and Lillian Marschall; one sister Sandra Gregor of Berlin and one brother Philip Marschall of Berlin. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Bryan and Sharon Vergin of Phillips, WI, Evan and Susan Vergin of Silt, CO, Marcia and Mark Fink of Weyauwega, WI and Kurt and Cheryl Vergin of Arizona as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Floyd and Lillian Vergin, and one brother Alfred Marschall.
Paul was a loving husband who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loyal friend and enjoyed their company-especially during a good sheepshead game. He loved fishing and was always trying to get better at it….and caught the fish to prove it.
Visitation for Paul will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018, from 9 - 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Paul will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018, at 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon with Reverend Bryan Fritsch officiating. Interment will follow at Nepeuskun Cemetery in the Town of Nepeuskun with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Paul will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but we know he's with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
