Raymond Sosinski Obituary

Sosinski, Raymond Jude

61, of Watford City, ND, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND. He succumbed to injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident caused by a stroke.

Ray was born November 11, 1955 in Oshkosh, WI, to parents Arlen and Audrey (Schutz) Sosinski. He was a graduate of Lourdes Academy, class of 1973. He married the love of his life, Julie (Conklin), on October 23, 1981 at Saint Peter Catholic Church in Oshkosh, WI. They soon moved to Superior, WI, where Ray was manager of The Athlete's Foot at the Mariner Mall. He lived in Superior for over three decades, where he and Julie raised their 3 sons. A man of many skills, he worked various jobs throughout the years. Later, they ventured out west, moving to Watford City, ND, where Ray worked for Nuverra Environmental Solutions/PowerFuels.

Ray enjoyed traveling, spending time at his vacation home in Florida with his wife, and watching his Green Bay Packers. He loved bowling and playing baseball. He played fast pitch softball for nearly 20 years, most notably with Duluth Tire. He was also a referee of hundreds of youth basketball games over the years. Most importantly, he was a loving husband and father.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 36 years; their 3 sons, Bradley (Elizabeth) Sosinski of Odenton, MD; Wesley Sosinski of Watford City, ND; and Matthew Sosinski of Superior, WI; 2 brothers, Walter (Pennie) Sosinski of Yuma, AZ; and Steve Sosinski of Oshkosh, WI; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John (Jennifer) Sosinski.

A visitation will be held at Saint Peter Catholic Church, 435 High Ave., on Monday, August 7, from 4-6 pm, with mass immediately following. Father Eastors will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation to your local Salvation Army.
