Shirley Soderbeck

Oshkosh - Shirley Mae Soderbeck, age 89, of Oshkosh, died Sunday February 25, 2018 at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. She was born in Oshkosh on September 2, 1928 the daughter of the late Rudolph and Marie Hergert Penzenstadler. Shirley married Lorin Soderbeck on December 15, 1951 in Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2013 She graduated Constance Beauty School in Milwaukee. She was a proud member of Noble Ladies, Order of White Shrine, Oshkosh Beauceant and Eastern Star of Oshkosh and Wautoma. Shirley animals and feeding the birds. She and Lorin were true road warriors. They traveled many countries and all of the U.S. They loved spending winters in Arizona.

Survivors include two daughters; Gail (Tom) McCrory, of Oshkosh, Becky (Steve Kriha) Venne Oshkosh, one granddaughter; Kim (Houstin) Smith, Fitchburg, WI., and one grandson; David (Dana Krueger) McCrory, Spooner, WI. Shirley is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, the Kriha Family, and many dear friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by one brother; Rudy Penzenstadler JR.

Funeral services for Shirley will be held in Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home (865 South Westhaven) on Monday March 5, at 6:00 PM with the Rev. Jeffery Knoll officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 PM until the hour of services.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, or the Shriners Children,s Hospital.

Shirley's family wishes to extend a very special Thank you to the nurses and staff at Bethel Home for kindness and care.

Becky and Gail - I just saw online that your Mom had passed. I lost my Mom in October, so I do know what you are going through.
