To my dear friend Florence:
I want you to know that I think of you so often, and miss you so very much !
You were like a second Mom to me, and I want you to knpw how very much I appreciated all you did for me , from the welcome you gave me the day I walked into WPD in June of 1986. You taught me to be fierce, and over those years we became family. I hope you heard me when I told you how much I loved you in the hospital. Your family was so nice to let me say goodbye that last evening. I feel that you were listening to everything I said. I know you are with the love of your life , Paul; and your best friend , Mary Lou. I know Hugh and Lois and Mel and all the others that went before you are now rejoined and at peace. I will never forget you my dear friend, and some day we will meet again! I will continue to fight the demons that haunt me and get strong enough to take care of myself and make you proud of me ! My Mom and you are my guardian Angels...I know you will have my back for the rest of the time I have left on this earth. Surely God has blessed both of you with a wonderful eternal life and I will see you again someday.
You are lived and missed so much ! Rest in peace my dear friend. I love
you !

Florence-Richard and I were in Wfd. in Sept for a few days(before traveling on to Saginaw & Coloma) and we stopped by Kelly & Irene's and went back the next day to catch Pat & Brenda . I'll tell u-it was awful strange to sit there among such comfortable-old surroundings and NOT have u with us-physically. BUT YOU WERE RIGHT THERE WITH US-MENTALLY AND IN OUR HEARTS- U ALWAYS WILL BE. Going back to Doremus is like going HOME to us now. Love You Florence-All You McNamara's.

My sincere sympathy to the entire McNamara Family. I feel like I was a part of their family because the day I walked in to Waterford Police as a rookie officer in 1986, Florence adopted me. She was like a second Mother to me and when my own Mom died , Florence was there to help me through my loss and make everything alright. Through the last 29 years her friendship has never waivered. She was a person of the highest moral standards and one of the best friends a girl could ask for. Everyone loved her positive outlook on life, she was an inspiration to us all. She will be dearly missed by so many, but I take consolation in the fact that she is now in Heaven with her beloved Paul, her best friend Mary Lou, and My own Mom and Aunt. She has now become one of my angels. I love her and I love her family. She will never be forgotten and will forever be missed. Like I told her on Friday ""You had one heck of a ride:" the same thing she told Mary Lou when she was leaving this earth. I told Florence she had been the best friend a woman could ask for.and a great adoptive Mom. I told her that she had raised a great family and that so many from the Police Department sent their love to her. I firmly believe she heard every word, She gripped my hand and held onto it while I spoke with her. She knows how much she was loved. I know now that she is looking down upon us and is content to watch over us as another of our angels. I hope her family knows how much her friends appreciated them sharing their Mom with us and I hope they know how much she was cherished and loved by us all.
Florence: you will be missed forever and never forgotten......
