James Alumbaugh Obituary

Alumbaugh, James “Jim” Edwards; of Troy, formerly of Parma MO; age 74; passed away suddenly March 9, 2014.Born June 2, 1939 in Pontiac MI. Retired from General Motors He is predeceased by his wife, Shirley Alumbaugh. Survived by his sister, Mona Hewett of Auburn Hills; and brother, Don Alumbaugh of Clarkston. Although Jim never had any children of his own, he was a proud, caring, and supportive step-father to six children; numerous grandkids and great grandkids. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, friend, mentor and hero. He was everything a father should and could be. He enjoyed going to the casinos and playing the lottery. He loved being outdoors, fishing, camping, Belle Isle, and watching boat races. Jim was also an avid albeit mostly unsuccessful treasure hunter that has finally found his pot of gold at the end of his rainbow. You will be missed but never forgotten. Dad was a quiet and very humble man and as such, no services are being held in accordance with what he would have wanted or not wanted for that matter. Please celebrate his life in whatever way you think he would have wanted, cause its what he would have wanted, and take solace in the fact that he is at peace.
