Richard Edginton-Pitcher Obituary

Edginton-Pitcher, Richard Thomas, August 6, 1966, to February 13, 2022. Richard passed away with family at his side in ICU. He was born in Pontiac, MI and lived in Oakland County for his entire life. Richard was a sports fan extraordinaire, attending Tigers, Pistons and Lions games. He was a fierce advocate for himself and fellow special needs citizens. Richard loved visiting family and friends. Richard had the biggest heart and always watched out for his friends. He was a key member for his program's fundraising, fun activities, ran a coat drive, contributed to Toys for Tots and sat on the New Gateways Board. Richard will be dearly missed by all who shared in his life experiences. He enjoyed a robust social life, participating in Special Olympics. Predeceased by Foster Mom of 44 years, Carol Pitcher, they were a dynamic duo. Survived by; Beloved Mom, Vicky Kuffner (Tom), Father, David Edginton (Pam), Uncle Harold Caldwell, Aunts; Carla Peters (Mike) and Trish Johnson. Sister Shelly Pitcher (Bob), brother Scott Pitcher (Denise) and numerous loving cousins. A memorial will be held in late spring, 2022 to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his favorite community program, which he went to for over 20 years. It was near and dear to his heart.
