We live across the street from Alex and crossed paths many times down by the road when he’d come to get his mail. The first day I met Alex we chatted for 45 minutes in the driveway and he invited me in for tea to continue our conversation. I grew up here on this property and we always got to talking deeply about time and life. He told me about some of his adventures but knowing how humble Alex was I never heard over half of the amazing things he’d done in his life and it brought me to tears reading what a craving for meaning Alex had. What a beautiful tribute. The last few times I saw Alex left me unsettled and to hear of his passing truly shook my world. I didn’t know Alex very well but we are all human. And we all struggle blindly through life. I’m honored to have known him and I will be missing our future woodworking endeavors we had chatted about together. The morning after his passing I was looking out the window down his driveway and I watched a fawn passing through letting me know he’s okay. My deepest condolences to all of you, grief is just love with no place to go.

I had met Alex only a handful of times at Boston Harbor Marina where he kept his lovely Bucephalus after waiting something like 7-12 years for a mooring. He was lovely, intuitive, kind, and had an absolute undeniable sweetness about him. Every time we would see each other on the dock we would make time to have a small conversation. When he hauled Bucephalus out for the season he let my partner and I stay on the mooring he had waited so long for, for free. His kindness and generosity was so absolutely meaningful to us. Though we only have met this wonderful man a handful of times, we had exchanged many words over email. Let it be known that we will think about Alex forever, his generosity and his delightful demeanor. Needless to say he gave off untouchable vibrations of light and positivity. He will be so missed and I am just so glad to have ever crossed paths with such an amazing human. My condolences to his family and friends. I can only imagine how much his family and friends are hurting. I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you Alex for being a sensitive soul that touched our lives, even if it was brief.
