Patti Zech Obituary

Patti Kay Loveless Zech died peacefully in her sleep on October 22, 2002 after a heroic battle against colon cancer. She was 47 years old.Patti was the beloved wife of Daniel Stewart Zech. They had been married for 23 years and were best friends for 35 years. She leaves behind her adored daughters, Amanda Christine Zech and Jillian Keenan Zech. Patti was the second child of E. Christine Thunberg Loveless (deceased) and Morris (Moe) J. Loveless and the loving sister of Lori Buher and Jill Loveless-Lien. She was loved and will be missed by her parents-in-law, Muriel and Paul Zech, her brothers- and sisters-in-law, her nieces and nephews, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.Patti was born and raised in Olympia, Washington and was a graduate of Washington State University. She ended her career at Thurston County and the State of Washington in order to raise her two daughters and assist her husband in his real estate and construction business. Patti was a pillar in the community and always the first to volunteer. She was involved in the Junior League, Childrens Hospital Cooper Point Orthopedic Guild, the L.P. Brown Elementary and Jefferson Middle School PTAs, Capital High School Booster Club and Scholarship Fund, and was a past Social Chairman of the Olympia Golf and Country Club.Pattie enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, golfing, and, above all, gardening. Her garden was her passion; she tended it with the same nurturing hand and loving compassion as she did her family and friends.Patti will be remembered most for her brilliant smile, her compassionate, loving heart, and the glorious, omnipresent humor she carried with her and gifted to others to the very end of her life.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society for Colon Cancer Research, 1551 Broadway, Tacoma, WA 98402, 1-800-227-2345.A memorial service will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at 1:30 pm, followed by a reception at the Olympia Golf and Country Club.
