Philip Pullara Obituary

Philip J. Pullara Sr. 68, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at his home in Rochester. Philip was born on April 12, 1939 in Glendale, California and grew up in and around Southern California. He joined the United States Navy in 1957 and served until his retirement in 1978. While with the Navy, he served on board ship in Vietnam with Search and Rescue Squadron HC-7 and the most heroic servicemen of the conflict. This squadron's primary mission was to rescue pilots that had been shot down over enemy territory and bring them home safely. Philip retired from the Navy in San Diego as an Avionics Instructor for new Naval Flight Crews. Philip was preceded in death by his first wife Anna, who he married in 1959 and had three children with. Anna passed away in December 1987. Philip was also preceded in death by his second wife Judy, who he married in 1993 and stayed by her side until her death in April 2007. Philip is survived by his three children, Philip Jr., his wife Kate, and their son PJ, all of Las Vegas, Nevada; another son, John, his wife Linda, and their son James, all of Oceanside, California; and finally, survived by his daughter, Patricia, married to Milton, of Alexandria, Virginia. Philip's two greatest joys of life were hunting and fishing with friends and being a member of the Brotherhood of Freemasons, for which he was involved with for nearly 30 years. Philip was cremated on November 21, 2007. No services are scheduled.
