In addition to Bob being my sister's life partner, I considered him a friend. Whether it was at family functions or playing golf, Bob was always easy to be with and there is now a void in all of our lives that we should fill by honoring Bob in our own special ways. My way will be to contribute to the Bob Gustavson Memorial Fund @ Tillamook Forest Center, as he was truly dedicated to effective management of our forests. My thoughts are with those he left behind.

I worked with Bob through a difficult time for the forest products industry and eventually followed him at WFPA. They were big shoes to fill and to this day I admire his integrity and work ethic. To me, Bob is a fixture in Northwest forestry.

During his employment with Murray Pacific and WFPA I spent many hours nose-to-nose, working beside and with Bob (Gus) over the years. He always had a nack for a smile when they were hard to find and was a very competent professional. He has a lasting place in my mental hard drive.

Bob was one of the first people I worked with at WFPA. I will always remember his down-to-earth style, ready smile and positive attitude. Thanks, Bob. You will be missed in our industry family. To your family and friends, may it be a comfort to know that Bob is loved and respected.

It was always a pleasure working with Bob, both at Murray Pacific and at WFPA. I was able to see and talk with him last fall for the last time and was happy to hear how happy he was 'back in the woods'. Our profession will miss his expertise, and I will miss his positive attitude and good natured way of meeting each day.
