Roy Dean Teague

March 31, 1927 - July 29, 2025

Tumwater, Washington - Roy Teague passed away July 29, 2025. He was born in Upton, Wyoming, March 31, 1927. His father was Osbourn Teague, and his mother was Wilma (Lawrence) Teague. He grew up on a small dairy farm in Sheridan and served in the Navy 1945-47. After discharge he and Grace (Mull) Teague settled near Tumwater.

Roy was a Boy Scout Master and received the Silver Beaver Award for many years of service. He taught basic life skills, morals, and community service. He had two children, Dennis and Janice, and fostered several children.

They were long-term members of the Olympia Mountaineers and a member of the Olympia Elks Club. After retiring from Santry Trucking Company, he served as an Olympic National Park Ranger at the Hoh River and Enchanted Valley stations.

Roy loved to carve with the Capitol Woodcarvers Association.

A memorial service will be held September 6, 1:00 p.m. at the Rock Church, 1901 SE 7th Ave., Olympia, WA 98501.

Roy taught me belay skills when i took the Mountaineers Basic Climbing Course in 1982. He was a great climb leader and i learned much from him while climbing in the mountains.
