Simone Sheridan Obituary

Simone (Monette) Sheridan of Seattle passed away May 10, 2008 at the age of 92. She was born Simone Marthe Campeau on January 31, 1916 in London, England, to French parents Gaston and Augustine (Roblin) Campeau. She grew up there and spent summers in Tours, France. Simone lived through the World War II aerial bombings of London, England, where she met her beloved Robert Sheridan, an American officer, whom she married in April 1946.
Simone raised her family in Chicago, Illinois and also lived in Brussels, Belgium, Los Angeles and San Diego, California, and Seattle, as well as in Olympia (1990-2002). Active and young at heart until her death, Simone was an elegant and gracious woman who made friends wherever she went. She loved traveling with and visiting her family and friends, and always had her next plane tickets in hand. She was fun to be with, most generous, and very encouraging to the younger generations.
Simone is survived by her sons, Robert Sheridan, of Chicago, Illinois; James Sheridan, of Tucson, Arizona; Charles Sheridan, of Seattle; and Francis Sheridan of Anchorage, Alaska; by her daughter, Marion Sheridan, of Olympia; and by her thirteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Simon Hartog, of London, England; and her husband Robert, the love and joy of her life.
A vigil will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Olympia. Funeral mass will be at noon on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at St. Michael Catholic Church, downtown Olympia, with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow after the mass at Calvary Cemetery, Tumwater.
