Tsuruko DeBoer

October 28, 1933 - July 26, 2025

Olympia, Washington - Tsuruko Matsuura DeBoer passed away at her home in Olympia Washington on July 26, 2025. She was born on October 28, 1933 and was the oldest of two children.

Tsuruko, more commonly known as Susie or sometimes even "the candy lady", is survived by her husband Dwight DeBoer; and daughters: Olivia Matsuura and Desiree Aikiko Cooper; and step son Jay DeBoer. A celebration of life for Susie will be held on Friday August 29th at 12PM at Mills and Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater, Washington. All are invited to come and share memories or a story.

Susie will always be remembered for her love of life and generous heart.

Over the years we have memories of Susie helping set up our class reunion gatherings.. making certain each place setting was perfect, placing candy at each setting, because as she said "that's what I did for years".
