Willie Gluth Obituary

Willie Irvin Gluth, 84, died on January 9, 2002 after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae (nee Wetherald); their children, William Irvin Gluth, Claire Murray, James Robert Gluth, and Jewel Renee Babcock; thirteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Willie spent his late teen years as a cowboy in Central Oregon. He and alla Mae married in 1939, residing in Portland where he became a welding supervisor, building warships for Henry Kaiser Shipyards until 1945 when they moved to Port Angeles. He spent the next twenty years as a commercial fisherman and then worked for Foss Tug as a deckhand/engineer until 1981. Willie and Ella Mae moved to Scott Lake in Olympia, where they enjoyed retirement, feeding the squirrels, and tending the lawn and garden.A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Salvation Army.
