DONALD BAXTER Obituary
Born Dec. 12, 1944 in Brisbin, he was a son of the late Archie and Ivalo (Anderson) Baxter.
Don was a member of the Baptist Church, IBEW Local 5, and the Wormleysburg American Legion Headquarters Post 945.
He was an avid Penn State Football fan. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing and raising and showing his Saint Bernards. He loved spending winters in Florida.
Don was employed as an electrician for IBEW Local 5 until his retirement in 2006.
He served with the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966.
On Aug. 7, 1965 in the Brisbin Baptist Church he married Nancy (Kephart) Baxter, who survives at home.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Nannette Mannon and her husband Raymond Jr. of Quakertown, and a brother Gerald R. Baxter and his wife Judy of Johnstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Ashley Kephart; a niece Kiersten Robertson; and a brother-in-law Joseph Gorczyca.
Family and friends will be received Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., 200 David St., Houtzdale.
Funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Grace Reformed Baptist Church, Ramey.
Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
The family requests donations be made in Don's memory to the Grace Reformed Baptist Church, 411 Main St., P.O. Box 93, Ramey PA 16671.
