Howard Askey Obituary
He was born Jan. 2, 1948, the son of Carl and Pauline (West) Askey.
Howard was a former Commander of the John Lewis Shade American Legion Post #6, Clearfield; and a former member of the Clearfield VFW Post 1785, and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 812, Clearfield.
He retired as an LPN after working for various agencies over 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing. He loved being "Pappy" and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Askey served with the U.S. Marines during Vietnam.
Howard is survived by his daughters, Bobbi Sue Young, Marsha (Scott) Coble, and Glenna (Jeff) Gentzyel; grandchildren, Michael Askey, James (Justine) Ogden, Melissa Quickel, Matthew (Ashley) Lonjin, Molly Sartin, Jennah Nishida, and Brandon Nishida; great-grandchildren, Madison Ogden, Jameson Ogden, Drake Leija, Wyatt McIntyre, Makenna Askey, Marlee Askey, and Aloura Lonjin; and a sister, Catherine Blasko.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Beth Askey; and a brother, Robert Askey.
A memorial service will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 12 p.m.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
