LOIS COLLINS Obituary

PARKVILLE, Md. - Lois E. Collins, 83, a resident of Parkville, Md., and formerly of Philipsburg, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Accent Care, a part of Franklin Square Hospital, in Baltimore, Md.

Born Sept. 21, 1940 in Chester, she was daughter of Lawrence T. and Elsie L. (Livesey) Young.

Lois had worked many years as an administrative assistant to superintendent Sam Peterson of the Philipsburg-Osceola School District. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She also enjoyed reading and crocheting.

On Aug. 3, 1963 in Collingdale, she married Peter H. Collins, who preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2021.

Lois will be missed by her children, Christopher P. Collins and wife Janice of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Mark A. Collins and wife Jamie of Glen Allen, Va., and Suzanne Hartmann and husband Eric of Parkville, Md.; a sister, Sheila Dunleavy and husband Carl of Havertown; a brother Larry Young and wife Evalyn of Knoxville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Ian Collins, Paige Collins, Grecia Collins, Isabelle Hartmann, Alison Hubble and Andrew Powell; and five great grandchildren, Gannon Collins, Liam Powell, Rowan Collins, Rocco Stevens and Colby Hubble.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Young and Alan Young, and a sister Gloria Ishler.

The family will receive friends at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg, on Friday, June 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, June 29 from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 29 at 11 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 400 S. 4th St., Philipsburg, with the Rev. Fr. Matthias Rendon officiating.

Lois will be laid to rest next to her husband in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Lois's memory may be made to your local Alzheimer's Association.
