Samuel Lombardo Obituary

CLEARFIELD - Samuel James Lombardo, 72, of Clearfield, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, at the Knickerbocker Villa.

He was born April 17, 1952, the son of Charles and Margaret (Lamendola) Lombardo.

He was a former member of the SOI, Clearfield Borough Council, Chairman of Clearfield Co. March of Dimes, and the Pennsylvania Warden's Association. He also served on the board of the Clearfield Community Pool and was a PSU Master Gardner.

Sam was a millwright at Harbison Walker for 10 years before working at the Clearfield County Jail for 34 years where he served as Warden. He was a recipient of the Pennsylvania Warden's Association Warden of the Year award.

Mr. Lombardo enjoyed gardening and loved to hunt and fish, especially with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Lloyd) Lombardo whom he wed May 15, 1976 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield; two sons, Patrick Lombardo of Clearfield, and Mark (Angela) Lombardo of Bellefonte; three grandsons, Benjamin Lombardo, Ryan Lombardo, and Nicholas Lombardo; a sister, Frances Selvage; a brother, Charles (Lonna) Lombardo Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass will be said by Fr. Robert Horgas on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025 at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield Community Pool, 415 Polk St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
