STEPHEN LEONARD Obituary

CURWENSVILLE - Stephen J. "Steve" Leonard 73 of Curwensville passed away Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024 at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Born Nov. 9, 1950 in Clearfield he was the son of James and Anne (Katchmarchic) Leonard. He was a 1968 graduate of Curwensville Area High School. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during Vietnam. He was a hard working having been a truck driver, was a mechanic for McDonald Land and Mine Company and retired as a mechanic for Hubler Brothers after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Curwensville VFW #842 and the Curwensville Loyal order of the Moose #268.

In July 1973 at the Hepburnia United Methodist Church he wed Janice (Shaw) Leonard who survives of Curwensville along with two children, Brian Leonard (Tammy) of Woodland and Lori Hobbs of Gainesville, Ga.; two grandchildren, Joseph Leonard and Emma Leonard; brothers and sisters, John Leonard, Tom Leonard of Curwensville, Nancy Duffalo of DuBois, Louise Delio of Falls Creek and Patty Johnston of Curwensville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Mr. Leonard will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rick Butler officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made St Jude Children Hospital at www.stjude.org or the Curwensville VFW post 842,19 River St. Curwensville, PA 16833
