THOMAS NICHOLSON Obituary

CURWENSVILLE - Thomas Gifford Nicholson, 86, of Curwensville died on Monday, Nov. 28, 2022 at his home.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1936 in Grampian, a son of the late Thomas L. and Mary (Richards) Nicholson.

Mr. Nicholson had been employed for 32 years at Riverside Markets, having worked his way from stocker to the store manager. In his free time, Mr. Nicholson enjoyed farming and attending auto races with his many friends. He also enjoyed hunting and spent much time at Knepps Camp, where he was a member since 1953.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years and high school sweetheart, Eugenia G. (Pent) Nicholson, whom he wed Sept. 26, 1959 in Curwensville; and his son and buddy, Adam Nicholson and fiancée Jennifer Swarthout of Williamsport.

Mr. Nicholson was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Thomas L. and Mary E. (Richards) Nicholson; a sister, Mary M. Robertson and late husband Edward who resided in southern Virginia; and a brother, Jess Nicholson who passed away as a child at the age of 7.

As per Mr. Nicholson's wishes, there will be no services at this time.

The family would like to thank the many neighbors and friends that helped and watched out for Tom and Eugenia.

The family suggests that in his memory, do a good deed today and think of Tommy, Nick, Buck or whoever you knew him as.

Beardsley Funeral Home & Crematory, Curwensville is in charge of arrangements.

I drive by Tom's house often on my way to Clearfield.I would often see him in his yard or at the barn. Always a wave and a big smile.I used to see his wife mowing the yard and tending her beautiful flowers.I miss this very much.Such a friendly family. May I leave a note to Adam, would you please get in touch with me,if you are in the area? Pat Ross, Naulton Road

I am sorry to hear of Tom's passing away. I knew Tom from Knepps Hunting Camp. He always had stories to tell and he was a good cook and great camp member. Thanks for the memories Tom.

I'm very sorry to hear of Mr. Nicholson's passing. He was always a personable and friendly man. Having family land that adjoins his family's, we often spoke (along the road) during hunting season and other times of the year. Those conversations will be missed. Our condolences to his wife and son.
