Ruth Ann Brooks

Ruth Ann Edwards Brooks, age 96, of Monticello, Indiana joined her beloved husband W. Lorman Brooks on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in spirit for eternity.

She was born May 18, 1929, four miles west of Crothersville, Indiana to Clyde and Bessie King Edwards. Ruth Ann graduated from Crothersville High School in 1947.

She was married to W. Lorman Brooks. She met Lorman on his birthday on June 7, 1963 and they were married on his birthday June 7, 1964 in First Methodist Church in Columbus, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2003.

Mrs. Brooks retired from Purdue University after 20 years. She attended First Baptist Church of Delphi. Ruth Ann was a believer in solid moral values and God as her Savior.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Kendall Brooks; and sister Bonnie Edwards Russell.

Survivors include her loving sons, Christopher Charles Brooks (Yves) of Orlando, Florida and Noel Agan Brooks (Paula) of Monticello, Indiana; brother, Carl King Edwards of Crothersville; four granddaughters, Sydney and Mackenzie of Michigan, and Evalei and Ella of Delphi; grandson, Silas Brooks of Delphi; and a great-grandson, Hector of Michigan.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Myers-Reed Chapel. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Visitation will also be at the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m.
