Gerald was my realtor, for purchase and selling. We were next door neighbors. When my husband went to the war in Iraq, Gerard was truly my neighbor. He watched out for me. I remember seeing him numerous times at auctions. He looking for farm and ranch, me looking for something old. He helped me more than I ever thanked him. I did call once just to say hi and was told by his new wife he´d passed. I was in hard times and had thoughts of moving back to Rolla. He´d been such a help to me before. Gerald had a group of "handymen" that could fix fence and dead trees and he´d called them for me when I was by myself, and he told them to do right by me, and they were the nicest men and very sweet. He was a wonderful person neighbor and friend. A great person for Rolla.

My sincere condolences to the Pietsch family. Gerald was a very wonderful guy whom my family considered a very true friend. I am sure the entire Rolla community will miss his willingness to serve and make the Rolla Area a better place to live. He met so much to my father-in-law, Jack Hale, and kept him involved in the work on the farms at a time when Jack really needed something to occupy his time. May God richly bless the family during this time and the days ahead. Gerald leaves a wonderful legacy for which his family that remains to build on. I see that one of the grandchildren lives in Portland, Oregon where I live.
I am very sorry I will not be able to be there for the memorial service.
God Blessings upon the family is my prayer.

Sara's and my deepest condolences go out to Erv and Linda's family. Had the pleasure to meet Gerald a few times during visits to his farm. He treated me like family. Always looked forward to seeing him when I was in Rolla. Will surely miss being able to do so in the future.
