Floyd King Obituary

BRYSON CITY - Floyd Jr King, 94, of the Needmore Community went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 9, 2025. A native of Bryson City, he was the son of the late Rufus V. and Nancy Wikle King. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia King; and sister, Marie King Pyler.
He is survived by his children, RV (Sherry) King of Grottoes, Virginia, James King of Bryson City and Brenda King of Bryson City; grandchildren, Joni Estep, Daniel Cloer, Adam King, Paul King, Robert Cole, Rhonda Cole and Ronnie Cole; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Ollie Bridges of Asheville; brother, Clifford (Sue) King of Bryson City; and Jim Mathis and the Almond Boat Park Family.
Floyd worked for over 60 years for Almond Boat Park. His wife Virginia and himself started K & B Meat Processing in Bryson City in 1991. He was a nightwatchman at Almond Boat Park for over 60 years. He loved this job and loved to meet and greet people there. His passion was farming, horseback riding and the Wagon Train.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 12 at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel.
The family received friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday at the Funeral Home.
