Edna Capps Obituary

BENTON -- Edna Nadine Capps, 92, passed away Monday morning, Jan. 21, 2013, in Portage, Ind.

She was born June 27, 1920, in Creal Springs, the daughter of Jerome and Rose (Cagle) Donelson.

She married Waymon Capps on Jan. 14, 1940, in Charleston, Mo., and he preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1998.

Mrs. Capps was a member of First Baptist Church in West City.

Survivors include her son, Darryl Capps and wife, Pat, of Portage, Ind.; four grandchildren, Donna Capps (whom Edna raised) of Griffith, Ind., Deanna Capps and Lisa Chlumsky, both of Fort Myers, Fla., and David Capps of Valparaiso, Ind.; and four great-grandchildren, DJ Capps, Alexandra Chlumsky, Nicky Chlumsky and Lauren Chlumsky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Donald Capps; six sisters; one brother; and one half brother.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, in Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton. Burial will be in the Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
