George Lence Obituary

LICK CREEK - George Wayne Lence, 60, of Lick Creek died at 10:17 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

He was born Dec. 20, 1947, in Anna, the son of Walter Truman and Mary Virginia (Manus) Lence.

George was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved to farm.

George is survived by his mother, Virginia Lence of Lick Creek; two brothers, Richard Lence and wife, Patty, of Anna and Mervin Lence and wife, Sue, of Lick Creek; one sister, Rosalee Edwards of Marion; nieces and nephews, John, Robert and David Lence, Laura Mattin and husband, Aaron, Mervin Lence Jr. and wife, Tammy, Larry Joe Lence and special friend, Michelle, Mike Craft and Rebecca Sue Malini; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Walter Raymond Lence .

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, in Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Paul Tirey officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.

Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
