Mildred Saxenmeyer Obituary

CHESTER - Mildred Saxenmeyer, 75, formerly of Chester, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, in Lake Barrington Woods Senior Living Community in Lake Barrington.

Mildred was born to the late Ralph Frank and Hilda (Wesbsecher) Bauer, on Jan. 20, 1933, in Walsh.

She married Robert D. Saxenmeyer on Dec. 27, 1954. He preceded her in death, along with their 10-year-old son, Craig, on June 3, 1968.

Mildred was a retired teacher. She graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1973 with a Bachelor's of Science in elementary education. She taught for more than 20 years at St. Mary Catholic School in Chester, Chester Public Schools and Menard Correctional Center.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester.

She is survived by one daughter, Cathy Ritter of Inverness; two brothers, Larry Bauer of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Jerry Bauer of Columbia; and two granddaughters, Caroline Monroe of Chicago and Cassie Monroe of Inverness.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert D. Saxenmeyer; son, Craig R. Saxenmeyer; and one sister, Betty Eggers.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, in St. Mary Catholic Church, with Father Gene Wojcik officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 7:30 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home in Chester.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester.

Dear Cathy & Family,
So sorry I couldn't be with you at the funeral yesterday, but all of us here at Friendship Village were with you in spirit, grieving with you and praying for you.

We are thankful for the legacy your Mom left in you, and she will live on through you. Thanks for your wonderful example of love for your Mom during this difficult last year.
