Taylor Covington Obituary
A celebration of Taylor's life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, in Platt's Belair Road Chapel in Georgia with the Rev. Wallace Hoyle offi-ciating.
Taylor's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understand that the quality of his existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which he lived. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him. He had a very caring heart. Taylor enjoyed fishing, hunting, football, baseball, the lake, music and sleeping late. The most precious memories he made were spending so much time with his "Bubba," Stephen.
Survivors include his parents, Kristen and Steve Covington; brother, Stephen Blane; paternal grandmother, Marie Covington; maternal grandmother, Doris Ann Basler; maternal grandfather, Dennis I. Basler; aunts and uncles, Cindy and Leon Brand (Texas), Mark Basler (Illinois), Lisa and Marc Orloff (California), Dennis and Ladonna Basler (Illinois), Denise and Andy Thoms (Colorado) and Ken Covington (Georgia); and many cousins.
Taylor's Bubba wrote about Taylor, saying, "He was my little fishing buddy. We would do everything together and he would love to go and do anything I was doing. He loved to help me with anything, and was always wanting me to teach him something new, whether it be about fishing or lifted trucks. He always wanted me to take him fishing or hunting. I taught him everything he knew about fishing. That's why we were so close. Fishing together was our bonding time, and he loved and enjoyed every minute of it."
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Taylor's honor to the GRU Pediatric Epilepsy Program, c/o GHSU Foundation, 1446 Harper St., BG2000H, Augusta, GA 30912. If making a donation by check, please state on the memo line that this donation is in memory of Taylor Covington.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home in Georgia.

I remember sweet Taylor and how his smile lit up our PreK classroom! He was a fun loving and tenderhearted little fella and I know he grew to be a special young man. He is missed! We will see him again, so I'll say "Until we meet again, Taylor!" Love to you!

I did not know Taylor but from his picture and his smile and all the nice remarks about him - he had to have been a very special young guy. My prayers are with you and your family. Taylor will be missed by so many. Having taught Taylor through his elementary school years I have been able to watch him grow into a great young man. His sweet smile and his willingness to help those around him will be missed. Thank you for sharing him with us.
