Brent Lenon Obituary

Brent Donald Lenon

St. George

Brent Donald Lenon, 58, St. George, Utah passed away 7 January 2013 while riding bikes with the love of his life Lori.

Brent, born 3 August 1954, was the oldest son of Don and Lois Lenon and the older brother to Randy. Brent went to school in Pocatello, Idaho and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1972. After graduation he went to work with his dad, one of the original franchisees, at Don's Arctic Circle in Pocatello, Idaho. Brent worked hard and dedicated a great deal of time making his restaurants be among the leaders in the Arctic Circle chain; his success in business included receiving the distinguished Young Men of America leadership award . Brent eventually owned restaurants in Pocatello, Chubbuck, and Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Brent was married to Darla Jan Wallentine and they had six children: Julie (Michael) Parrish of Rockland, Idaho; David (Christye Negreponte) Lenon of Athol, Idaho; Lauri Lenon Evans of Pocatello, Idaho; Michelle (Angier) Wills of Pocatello, Idaho; Jeffrey Lenon of St. George, Utah; and David Bell of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Brent had many good, lifelong friends in Pocatello whom he valued a great deal. He was proud to be able to maintain those friendships spite of moving to St. George, Utah in 2002. In St. George he developed many more great friendships and worked hard on his golf game and many other activities. He also worked for awhile at Entrada Golf Course.

Brent was blessed to marry Lori in May 2012 in San Carlos, Mexico and add her son Joey to his family. Together Lori and Brent were incredibly happy and enjoyed much time together bicycling, hiking, traveling, driving his car, and other fun activities. She and Joey have been a great blessing to him.

Brent's life has been a blessed one. His legacy will be one of hard work, good friends, doing good for others, and enjoying life. He will be missed!

He is survived by his wife Lori, his children, his father, Don (Walli) Lenon of Pocatello, Idaho and Hemet, California, and his brother Randy of Anchorage, Alaska. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Payton, Eryn, and Xavier Parrish; Tyler and Tanner Evans, Koryn and Kamden Bell. His list of survivors also includes many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Memorial services will be held in St. George, Utah on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel located at 288 West St. George Blvd.

A Memorial service will also be held in Pocatello, Idaho on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Street LDS Building. Brent Lenon was a great asset to Arctic Circle! He always represented the Company well and he always had Arctic Circle's best interest at heart. He will be sorely missed at all the AC functions! Brent had a great spirit and was always fun to talk to when he would call the office looking for Steve, Carol or Gary. As Thomas said, Heaven will be better for having him return but we all will have a hole in our hearts without him. May God Bless his family and watch over them until they are reunited with Brent again.

Brent, You were always a good bud, and one of the nicest guys to me growing up. Maybe it was because our moms played bridge together. We all missed you at the 40th reunion this past summer. Love and Smooches My Dear,

Brent was one of my franchisees that I called on when i became the Arctic Circle area representative for Idaho. What an operator he was, and he became a fabulous friend that always helped me with advice, operating tips, and we conspired together on the "un-approved" kids meals toys for our c-boxes. Heaven is a better place with him there now, but, down here has lost another jem.
We knew Darla and all of the children, and together, they raised a fine family.
God's Speed Brent.

RIP Brent Lenon. I was just a kid in the 70's when you hired me at Arctic Circle. It was my first job. I Worked the night shift on Fri. & Sat. nights. Yellowstone was the cruise, it was the place to hang out. A/C was always packed with kids crusin in & out, turning around to head back down the strip. It always kept work exciting. I remember when you remodeled the building, our hand prints may still be in the concret out side. You were a great boss, and a very kind person to know.

Brent became a friend when his dad (Don) and mom (Lois) befriended my parents via a mutual hobby (antique clock repair). I remember Brent as a fun, kind, busy guy as school as well as during his work shifts at Artic Circle. Prayers lifted for his family and others as they make arrangements and continue life keeping his memory tucked close to their hearts.
Blessings,
Avis (Bennett) Peterson

Brent was one of my first friends after moving to Pocatello when I was in the 2nd grade. We grew up together, eating cold Arctic Circle hot dogs on pheasant hunting trips, golfing at Riverside, cruising Main street in his green Chevy Nomad. His friendship was important to me growing up, and it remains a warm memory today. Rest in peace, Brent.
