Charles "Chuck" William Rudd

St. George

Charles "Chuck" William Rudd, age 72, passed away on June 20, 2016, at the Retreat at Sunbrook from Alzheimer's. He was born on April 22, 1944, in Murray, UT, to Charles and Helena Rudd. On July 24, 1977, he was married to Gail Stiles in Sunnyvale, CA.

Chuck was raised in Murray and Tooele Utah. He lived in Utah until he graduated from Utah State University in Engineering. Chuck moved to California after graduation to work as an engineer and attended graduate school at Santa Clara University. He graduated with a master's degree in Computer Science. He retired as a Vice President of software and hardware development before moving to St. George to retire. In St. George, he enjoyed playing golf with his buddies at the Bloomington Country Club.

Chuck is survived by: his wife, Gail Rudd; children: Jay (Carla) Rudd, MD (Olympia, WA), Tami Rudd, (Santa Cruz, CA), Christopher Hamley (stepson) (Farmers Branch, TX); Grandchildren: Cori Bratby-Rudd, Justin Rudd, Allyson Rudd, Lindsay Rudd, and Hope Hutton-Rudd; and sister-in-law Shauna Rudd (Riverton, UT).

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Charlie and Helena; and brother, Harry.

The family would like to thank Memory Matters Utah for the activity class provided by a great team and the Retreat at Sunbrook for the great care he received especially during his final days. We could not have asked for anything more.

Chuck will be cremated and his ashes will be spread in Maui, one of his favorite places to vacation and play golf. There will be a celebration of life for Chuck in St. George, UT in on August 20th (time and place TBD). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Memory Matters Utah: www.memorymattersutah.org
