Lawrence Don Metcalf, 81, died Sept 28, 2016. AKA "Lodem Larry" in the Dixie Desperados, a Cowboy Action Shooting group in St George. Larry was born Dec 28, 1934 in Salt Lake City UT to John Alvin & Myrine Burnett Metcalf.

Larry graduated from Granite High School in 1953. He married his life long sweetheart, Aleen May Cook on Oct 28, 1955. They had had 2 children, 7 grandchildren, & 7 great grandchildren.

Larry worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Co from age of 16 until retiring in 1983 at age 49. He did various jobs for the phone company from installer, supervisor, & retired as an employee trainer.

He enjoyed traveling, boating, camping, & hunting with his family & colleagues. He knew how to fix everything-- if he didn't know, he found a way to learn. Larry collected guns, He enjoyed target shooting competitively & for fun. Over the years he won Gold, Silver, & Bronze medals in shooting competitions & in the Senior Olympics.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Aleen; his two children Wesley (wife Myrna) and DeAnne (Hill), his grandchildren, & great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held Friday Oct 7, 2017, 1 pm in Lehi UT at the LDS meeting house 2161 W Gray Drive.
