Maureen Morris Obituary

Maureen Ellen Morris

Rockville

Maureen Ellen Morris, age 65, passed away on December 12, 2013. She and her partner, Jeff Elsey, age 58, were taken from us far too soon due to a tragic rockslide at their home. The family and friends deeply mourn the loss of Maureen and Jeff.

Maureen was born on March 28, 1948, in Long Beach, California, to Ernest and LaDawn (Jennings) McDougal. As an adult, Maureen lived in Orange, California, where she raised her daughter, Janelle, and later married Craig Morris, whom she met at Kawasaki Motors Corp. where she had worked for 26 years. Craig shared her love for Zion Canyon as they vacationed there often. After the loss of Craig, she became a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Orange, dedicating her time and energy to helping sick children and their families. She was blessed with many long-term friendships throughout her career, in the local community of Old Town Orange, and beyond.

Jeff Elsey, also of Orange, was a loving presence later in her life. They shared many similar interests: nature, music, art, great food, and lots of laughter, always. Upon Maureen's retirement from Kawasaki, she and Jeff moved to Rockville, their home just minutes from where Maureen's mother was born. They loved their life in Utah and were very grateful for all of their wonderful friends, family, and beautiful surroundings.

Maureen often said, "My heart is full" when reflecting on her life and loved ones. Maureen is survived by her daughter Janelle, son-in-law Kenneth, grandson George Jennings, sister Jennifer, and brother Drew. With her beauty, kindness, wisdom, humor, and gratitude, Maureen left an indelible heart print in us all.

The family wishes to thank the Rockville and Springdale communities for the outpouring of sympathy, generosity, and love.

You will be missed! Even though we didn't not get the opportunity to meet in person, I sure felt a bond of friendship with you and love seeing pictures and your new grandson ! Next summer when I'm gardening I will always think of you! You seemed to enjoy it as much as I do! Blessings to you - rest well
