Lynn Mobley Obituary

Lynn Edwin Mobley, 65, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
Mr. Mobley was born June 24, 1951, in Daviess County to the late E.L. Mobley and Inelle Milton Mobley. He graduated from Daviess County High School in 1969 and attended college at Murray State University. He transferred to the University of Kentucky, where he received his degree in mechanical engineering in 1973. Mobley later received a MBA from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1982. Initially, he worked for
Monsanto in Columbia, Tennessee, and in 1977 he moved back to Owensboro to work for National Southwire Aluminum where he was a manager for more than 20 years. He had many fond memories from NSA, especially of the great people he worked with and thought highly of.
His wish was to be remembered as a person of honesty, fairness, and integrity. Lynn was a faithful member of First Christian Church, where he served as a deacon, elder, and chairman of the board. One of his proudest moments was seeing the rebuilding and completion of the church after it was destroyed by fire in 2013.
In addition to his father, Mr. Mobley was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Mudd.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 42 years, Leslie Hanson Mobley; son, John Mobley and wife Stephanie; daughter, Kelly Mobley all of Owensboro; two grandsons, Alexander Thomas Mobley and Max William Mobley and step-grandson, Austin Martin.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at First Christian Church, with Rev. Chris Michael officiating. Interment will be at noon on Thursday at Peter Cemetery in Mackville.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Legacy Fund of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 700 J R Miller Blvd, Owensboro, KY 42303.

Leslie, John, and Kelly, Very sorry to hear about the passing of Lynn. I have such fond memories of him from hanging out at your house as a kid. He was always so kind to me and had a great sense of humor. He put up with many shenanigans from baseball games in the backyard to endless hours of video game playing (RBI Baseball and Simulator 1000 on NES) to driving us around to baseball practices and church events. I know he loved listening to John and I argue about IU and UK and sports in general. He was a great man and I will always appreciate the time I got hang around him growing up. Sending prayers your way.
