Wilmer Settles Obituary
He was a native of Washington County, born on August 10, 1947 to the late Wilmer F. and Eleanor Anna Robertson Settles.
A member of the Thompsonville Baptist Church, he was a longtime employee of the former Bourbon Stockyards of Louisville and was a construction worker.
Preceding him in death was a sister, Deborah S. Bishop on February 11, 1985 and three brothers, Howard Settles on November 14, 2002, Robert Eugene Settles on November 22, 2012 and James Gary "Pug" Settles on February 10, 2021.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Cheatham Settles; a daughter, Joyce Ann Settles of Mt. Washington; a son, David Wayne Settles of Mt. Washington; a granddaughter, Aubrey Jo Settles of Louisville; a sister, Lynda Wohner of Springfield and a brother, Christopher Settles (Brenda) of Lebanon.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 17th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Nelson Reynolds, officiating.
Burial was in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
Serving as pallbearers were David Settles, Timmy Cheatham, Dallas Cheatham, Al Lanham, Freddie Bottoms, and Brandon Bishop.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
