Arthur David Needler, "Art", 73

Warsaw - Arthur David Needler, "Art", 73, peacefully passed away with his loving family by his side, at 9:19 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw.

He was born in Hartford City on March 26, 1943 the son of Arthur A. Needler and Imogene (Clements) Needler. His father precedes him in death.

Art graduated from Hartford City High School in 1961 and graduated from Ball State University.

He married Joyce K. (Reasoner) on April 10, 1966 at Montpelier Baptist Church in Montpelier.

Art owned and operated the 98-year old family business, Hoover-Needler Furniture Company for 31 years, until he retired in 1999. He also owned and operated Needler Properties. Art was a member of Hartford City Kiwanis Club, where he had been the past president. He was also a former member of BIDC, the Elks Lodge, Blackford Masonic Lodge, 32 Degree Mason, Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne, North Webster American Legion, Chamber of Commerce of Hartford City and 30-year member of Lake Tippecanoe Property Owner Association. He had served on the Board of Directors for Citizens State Bank (now First Financial Bank) for 35 years and was a co-developer in the Creekside Development in Hartford City.

He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Hartford City where he was a former Deacon, Elder and Trustee.

Art will be sadly missed by his wife, Joyce K. Needler of Warsaw; mother, Imogene Needler of Hartford City; daughter, Amy L. (husband, Scott) Lorch of Fishers; son, David A. Needler of Hartford City; grandchildren, Ashton D. Needler, Emily Lorch, Olivia Lorch and Sophia Lorch; brother, Michael Scott (wife, Kathy) Needler of Findlay, OH; several nieces and nephews.

He is also preceded in death by his brother, Montelle A. "Monte" Needler.

Art will be cremated.

A Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church, 117 W. Franklin St. Hartford City with Rev. Susan Finley officiating. Memorial Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the church.

Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 North High Street, Hartford City is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc., 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047.
