Jerry Alexander Obituary
HARTFORD CITY - Jerry Lee Alexander, "Jake", 68, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Bridgewater Centre for Health and Rehab.
He was born in Hartford City on July 3, 1947 to Leo E. Alexander and Melba I. (Sills) Alexander. His father precedes him in death on March 14, 1997.
Jake graduated from Hartford City High School. He had worked as floor help in the Hooks Drug Store in Hartford City. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #225 in Hartford City. He was an over the top Blackford Bruin Fan and IU Fan. He was a league bowler at Northside Lanes and his bowling team was named "Jake", and he played softball on Deno's Tavern Softball Team.
He will be sadly missed by his mother, Melba I. Alexander of Hartford City; daughter, Kathy Toland of Geneva; brothers, Topper R. Alexander of Hartford City; Tracy A. (wife, June) Alexander of Montpelier; sister, Penny J. Schambers (companion, Robert Mosley) of Hartford City; brother-in-law, Rick C. Rice of Hartford City; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his sister, Linda D. Rice.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City. Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 and from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to donor's choice.
