Josephine Wagner Obituary
Eaton - Josephine A. Wagner, 89, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at I.U Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Plainwell, Michigan on October 2, 1931, the daughter of Presley and Helen (Warrant) Snyder.
She was a graduate of Burris Laboratory School in 1949 and received her bachelor's degree from Ball State University in 1953. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. After graduating from Ball State University, she began teaching elementary school in Whittier, CA, married her beloved husband, John Wagner and then returned home to Muncie, IN and taught at Emerson Elementary. After seven years, she devoted her life to her children, husband and family.
She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Albany Lions Club, Republican Women's Club, along with the Flow Blue International Collectors Club. Josephine was an avid collector of Flow Blue China and she loved all animals, but especially Arabian horses and her Yorkies. She was a great horse show mom to many from 4-H to Nationals. She loved dancing, swimming, cooking, campfires, traveling, but most of all she was the best wife, mother, grandmother and loved her family and home.
Survivors include her cherished husband of sixty-six years, John R. Wagner; her children, Jim Wagner (Gayla) and Jane Gadbury (Greg); her grandchildren, Victoria Hornberger (Justin) and Veronica Basturk (Serdar); great-grandchildren, Lane, Vivian, John, Zaeda, Lilly and Jackson.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
Services will be family only on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 12 p.m. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum.
She was a proud supporter of Ball State University. Memorial contributions may be directed to Ball State University Foundation, 2800 W Bethel Avenue, Muncie, IN 47304
