With great sadness, we announce the passing of Bobby George Newman peacefully at his home. He was born in Camden, SC and raised in Columbia, SC. He was predeceased by his Father, Leo George & Mother, Willa Rogers Newman. Also, his sister, Vikki Newman Everman. He is survived by his one and only son, Bobby George Jr., and his wife, Ashley. He was the proud Papa of Bobbi Nicole, Addison Harper, and Caroline Grace. He will be dearly missed by his siblings, Barbara Ann Monroe, B. Jeanne (BJ) Stevenson, Brenda J. Rogers, and David L. Newman. He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and so many life long friends.
Bobby's life was well-lived and he was well-loved! Growing up, his siblings remember their big brother's generous heart, sense of humor, and his legendary pranks. Tossing them a quarter as he walked out the door, "don't forget to mop the floor." He had many storied careers in the automotive industry and Columbia nightlife. He loved his Gamecocks, attending games and events in his Gamecock bus, playing cards, Lake Murray, motorcycle trips to Maggie Valley and the Beach.
A special thanks to his wonderful caregivers, Monica Branham, Connie DesChamps, and Joey Young.
A private family viewing will be held at this time and a Memorial Celebration of his Life will be held in a couple of weeks, with announcement to follow.
