Pallbearers will be Kevin Berry, Brian Sharpe, Clint Sharpe, Keith Pound, Tim Fallaw and Boyce Sharpe.
Mr. Sharpe was born in Lexington, a son of the late Henry J. and Minnie Chaney Sharpe. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was first married to Blanche Smith Hoffman, and then to the late Sarah Williams Sharpe. He was employed for a number of years with Sears, Roebuck & Co., and later owned Sharpe's Capital Appliance and Furniture Company in Five Points. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, where he served as an usher and greeter. He was also a Mason.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Berry (Larry), of Cayce; four grandchildren; stepdaughters: Peggy Cathey (Jerry) of Lexington, Pat Sharpe (Johnny) of Cayce, Becky Turner (Eddie) of West Columbia; a stepson: Larry Williams (Chris) of Cayce; six stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister: Wilma Pound of Gaston; a daughter-in-law: Annette Sharpe; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Ronald Boyd Sharpe; sisters: Bessie Johnson, Myrtle Huckabee, Vernell Crout and Lura Harley-Cook; and brothers: Lonnie Sharpe, Horace Sharpe and Edward Sharpe.
Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfh.com) is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Agape Hospice and Assisted Living and Right at Home for the kindness and compassion shown to the family of Mr. Sharpe.
