Venice, Florida - Coreena Marie Jones (Dahl) passed away on September 15, 2023, at the age of 62. Coreena was born May 8, 1961, in Baudette, Minnesota to Ivan and Charlotte Dahl. There she attended the local high school and graduated in 1979. She was always described as a social butterfly and all-around excellent athlete. Soon after graduation, she realized college wasn't going to fulfill her adventurous heart. She enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Here, in South Carolina, she fell in love with the southern climate, culture, and people. It was in the Army that she thrived earning multiple commendations of excellence. It was also here she found her first husband, James Jones. While both being enlisted in the military they welcomed their first daughter, Danielle Jones. As a family, they traveled often overseas and in-country with the military. After their daughter received a traumatic heart diagnosis, Coreena was able to be discharged from service so they could better seek medical treatment for her. A couple years later they welcomed a second daughter, Kasey Jones. Coreena and James realized they were better apart and the next phase of her life started. She later met and married the "love of her life", William "Bill" Jones. After her girls were grown, and an unfortunate Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, she decided southern Florida was where she wanted to be. There they lived their retirement life in the sun. In April 2023 Coreena suffered her greatest loss when her husband of 25 years, Bill, passed away at home. Through her grief and her tears she pressed on in life until five months later, her ravaged body and broken heart gave up its last heart beat. May we always remember her laughing and dancing in the middle of the dance floor, kitchen, boardwalk, or beach. May we always try to emulate her kindness and caring soul. Coreena is survived by both her daughters; Danielle (Jones)Lewis, her husband, Andrew Lewis, and their children Asher & Evangline as well as Coreena's daughter Kasey Jones and her children Kameron, Kasmira, and Joanna. Her parents, Ivan and Charlotte Dahl. Her siblings Anthony Dahl, Marva (Dahl) Bowen, Devonna (Dahl) Hanson, Nicholas Dahl and their spouses. Along with many nieces and nephews. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Bill, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery November 2, 2023 at 12pm.
