Della Savannah Howard Wilcox

COLUMBIA — A graveside service for Mrs. Della Savannah Howard Wilcox, 72, of Columbia, will be held 2 o’clock, Friday, January 22, 2010, in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Letts officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o’clock. Friends may call other times at the family home, 112 Wynette Way, Columbia, SC 29229. Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210, and the American Heart Association, 520 Gervais St., Ste 300, Columbia, SC 29201.
 
Della passed away Monday, January 18, 2010. Born in York, SC, February 25, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Willard Shipton Sr. and Minnie Lou Edith Sisk Shipton. She was a member of the Ridgeway Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
 
Survivors include her husband, Ken Wilcox of Columbia; daughters, Tina Howard of Columbia, and Wanda Ervin of Chester; son, Junior Ervin of Chester; stepdaughter, Tammy Taylor and husband, Robert, of Nashville, GA; grandchildren, Wesley, James, Christopher, Zachary, Ashlyn, Amber and Jennifer; one great-grandchild, Faith; and six stepgreat-grandchildren; brothers, Eddie, Willard and Larry Shipton. In addition to her parents, Della was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Marrone.
